Memo to Fumo

Pennsylvania Senate Erupts With Anti-Gay Slurs

(Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) A Pennsylvania state senator has publicly apologized for referring to the top Republicans as "faggots" during a heated exchange Thursday.

Sen. Vincent J. Fumo (D., Phila.), long considered a friend of the LGBT community said he was ashamed by his choice of words.

"It was a very unfortunate word choice," Fumo said in a prepared statement. "I am especially sorry about using the term because it is not the way I feel in my heart toward gays."

It was a choice you made four times in that heated exchange. Here's a newsflash - when you cast about for a negative term with which to disparage the character of the object of your ire and "faggot" is the word you come up with, that's because that is the way you feel in your heart.

I'll count the seconds until the media is frothing with demands for Fumo's resignation. What comes after "trillion"?
