Lazarus post

My God, has it been that long since I was posting regularly? I guess it has. No, I'm not back to posting regularly, or even irregularly, but I do have a little something that just needs to be shared.

Following Howard Dean's "I Have a Scream" speech after the Iowa caucus, I developed this nagging... thing in my head. You see, that rousing little rant had managed to form an association with a much earlier event, a childhood memory of mine, and since then this entangled pair of moments has surfaced in my mind time and time again. First the meltdown passed by, then the nomination, then the election and a hundred other events, so I tried to let go of this thing taking form, and for a time I thought that I actually had.

However, when he secured the DNC chairmanship, I found that these two moments began demanding to become one. A year had passed, it was so old news, it's been remixed by everyone and their neighbors' brothers (twice over), and that election season seemed to last for years as it was - I knew perfectly well that it should just be left alone. Alas, the sudden resurgence of this muse was far too compelling to be denied indefinitely, and so by virtue of my weakness I give to you - "Howard 'The Duck' Dean - I have a Scream" (3 MB).
